Festival Lanterns by Patrick Jones
The last day of summer is rapidly approaching. Summer vacation is almost over and we all need to get back to our serious schedules that were loosened over the past months. No, donat be sad a there are so many interesting things to do in September that you wonat even be able to find time to be disappointed that the warm summer months have drawn to a close. September is a perfect month for some after-work or weekend activities. The amount of work is not that alarming so you can leave sooner on some evenings and enjoy what Toronto has to offer. There is so much to see that if it were possible, many of us would take the whole month off!
Thereas nothing more relaxing than being at a summer festival, surrounded by your friends and just enjoying the warm weather. Many will surely miss it and are not ready to say goodbye to summer activities just yet. They need one last festival to visit and then they will admit that sunny times are over and the time to check their closet and dig out their fall and winter clothes has come already.
Toronto International Film Festival
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is among the most popular film festivals in the world, scoring second place right after the film festival in Cannes. In 2007, Time noted that the festival had a?grown from its place as the most influential fall film festival to the most influential film festival, period.a? Compared to other festivals, TIFF has an eye for attracting movies and films later awarded Oscars. Hollywood studios often decide to premiere their films at TIFF and in past years we could see Slumdog Millionaire, The Kingas Speech, or Black Swan. TIFF will feature many amazing films this year such as Anna Karenina, directed by Joe Wright and starring Keira Knightly, or Argo, a film directed by Ben Affleck, who also appears in the film himself. Ticket sale starts on September 2nd at 10:00 A.M.
Fortune Cooking presented by CIBC

Street cooks are magicians who can create an amazing dish in a split second. Street Food Spotlight will feature chefs from across the city so that you can get the best experience of Asian foods.
If you prefer dining in a top restaurant, enjoying perfectly cooked meals, you should visit the Fortune Cooking Iron Chef Competition hosted by Andrew Chase. The two best chefs of Asian cuisine in Toronto will compete in a battle of culinary supremacy!

Fall Home Show
The Fall Home Show is here for everyone wishing to add personality to their homes. The show features amazing new and established design labels and interior designers. Many specialists will be more than willing to assist you with whatever interior problem you might have a lights, appliances, electricity, or a complete reconstruction. The Fall Home Show will surely be a very charming place for both home renovation planning and students wishing for cozy home accessories alike.
Fall festivals differ a little from summer ones a thatas for sure. If you spent your summer travelling, you might have missed some good music here at home. But no matter; Toronto will have its speakers on full blast throughout September, playing Madonna, Kiss, Gotye, and many, many more!
If there is one concert that should not be missed, it would be Madonnaas World Tour 2012. She is the number one singer a an icon of the modern era. There is so much more in her concert than just songs, however energizing. The whole production team puts up an amazing show filled with dances, visual art performances, and Madonna on top of it all. This is the one last concert to attend before you bid farewell to summer festivals and music nights.
Is Gotye just a one-hit wonder who will soon become just somebody we used to know? Hopefully not. His songs are relaxing and refreshing with amazing lyrics to boot. His concert will surely evoke this amazing lounge atmosphere or will remind you of summertime. Although there is just one song that was turned on full blast this summer, he has incredible talent to secure more of his songs in the Top 100. Would you like to know this artist better? You have the opportunity to see him performing live this September.
Are you a rocker at the bottom of your heart? Does Kiss mean more to you than those aging rock stars with face paint? The opportunity to see the legend doesnat come every year and neither does a chance to buy tickets just less than two weeks prior to a concert. Hurry up; only a limited amount of passes is being sold right now. I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day!
