September 4 to September 14
Choosing a top September event couldn’t be easier. The Toronto International Film Festival hits the streets of Toronto soon and, once again, we can look forward to excellent film programming and a bunch of Hollywood celebrities wandering around the city.
The festival will open with the world premiere of Black and White, the story of a widowed man who raises his granddaughter. The main character is played by Kevin Costner, who is certainly hoping for a comeback in Toronto.
Other anticipated films include The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch, The Humbling starring Al Pacino, and The Connection with Jean Dujardin (The Artist).
Once again, the festival also features a rich supporting program that includes discussions with filmmakers, a shorts section, and special programming for young film lovers.
Regular single tickets for screenings are $18 to $24 and tickets to red carpet premieres range from $30 to $46. Festival venues are scattered all over downtown, so check your tickets before heading to the events. The main public venue is once again set at the TIFF Bell Lightbox at Reitman Square, 350 King Street West.
