You simply can’t get bored during summer in Toronto! This season is always packed with plenty of amazing events, festivals, and concerts, and the month of August is not an exception. It was challenging to pick only a few of them, but we made our list. Check out our recommendations, and let us know in comments if you think we should add more!
Boots and Hearts Music Festival

This four-day celebration of the best of country music and lifestyle is the largest event of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area. The festival annually features both local and international performers, and up-and-coming acts together on stage. Nights will be packed with parties, with overnight camping option available. The event takes place at Burl’s Creek Park this year, with ticket prices starting at $199.99.
Ariana Grande Ft. Prince Royce
Date: August 9
Location: Air Canada Centre
Admission: Starting at $29
American singer and actress Ariana Grande is touring across North America. As part of THE HONEYMOON TOUR she will have concerts in many cities, including Toronto. Latin Superstar Prince Royce, who recently recorded his first English single “Stuck on a Feeling”, will be Ariana’s special guest throughout the tour.
Marvel Universe LIVE!
Date: August 13 – August 16
Location: Air Canada Centre
Admission: $31 to $167.25
More than 25 Marvel characters will battle over the Cosmic Cube, the source of ultimate power and the most powerful treasures in the Marvel Universe. Marvel’s biggest super heroes, like Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man and Wolverine, will band together to defeat villainous Loki and his allies, including Doctor Octopus, Madame Hydra, Electro, and more. The show is packed with special effects, aerial stunts, pyrotechnics, motorcycles and lot of action on the stage.

The Canadian National Exhibition is one of the largest annual fairs in North America. Up to 18 days are packed with live entertainment, amusement park ride, parades, shopping, events and abundance of food and drink stalls to choose from. Aviation aficionados can look forward to the thrilling Canadian International Air Show where they can admire the mastery of the pilots and their jaw-dropping loop-de-loops and synchronized maneuvers. The CNE is packed with concerts, performances and special events, so don’t forget to check their schedule!
BIG on Bloor Festival
Date: August 22 – August 23
Location: Bloordale neighbourhood
Bloor Street West closes for two days to celebrate local arts, culture, and small business. This will be the 8th year of the festival, with up to 80,000 people attending, and it will feature over 50 original hands-on cultural projects for festival participants. Head to the streets and learn something, create something, and enjoy musical and theatrical performances, one-of-a-kind exhibitions, The BIG Market Place with more than 200 tables, and much more! Kids can play and enjoy the event in Susan Tribaili Parkette with PlayByNature.

Location: Downtown Yonge Street Neighbourhood
Buskerfest is the largest street performers’ festival in Ontario. You will have a chance to see over 130 of the best street performers from all around the world, including Canada, Australia, Brazil, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Poland, Thailand, The Netherlands and the U.S. In more than 50 acts you will have a chance to see silent comedy and slapstick, magicians, high skill circus acts, and much more. There will be also a brand new Family Fun Zone, with exciting performances and activities for kids!
Buskerfest, being organized and run by a local charitable organization, Epilepsy Toronto, is the single-largest fundraiser of the year.
