“A festival for young movie lovers” takes place (sadly) exactly at the same time as the Wavelenght music festival. You have to choose whether you’re a music devotee or movie addict. One awesome thing about the TIFF NextWave is that it’s completely free: just attend the event and you will see both old faves and new movie releases from around the world, Q&A sessions, industry workshops, ever-epic kick off at Battle of the Scores, and if you really hate sleeping the 24-Hour Film Challenge is just the right thing for you! Sounds awesome, doesn’t it!
Frozen in Time by IceFest
Date: February 20 – February 21
Location: Bloor-Yorkville B.I.A.
The annual IceFest is back again! This year’s theme is “Expressions of Love”, so hit the Bloor-Yorkville streets to explore romantic ice sculptures. The ice sculpture winter scene will be made from 35,000 pounds of ice, and you will have a chance to watch the artists during the ice carving demonstrations. In addition, the festival program includes street performers, and the Annual Sassafraz Ice Carving Competition, where winners will be voted by the public. Your little ones can enjoy “Ice Kiddie Cubes” with a toy hidden inside.
A Night of Comedy

Who doesn’t enjoy laugh and good humour? Especially the one performed by three professional comedians.
